Call it the District 5 rule: if it can't survive a Mighty Ducks-style blowout before the montage kicks in, it's not worth putting on a kid.

A six-color gradient with a mascot crest costs the same to sublimate as a single flat color, because the whole process is one pass, not one pass per color like screen printing needs. That's the part most teams don't realize until they've already priced it out somewhere else.
Design It Right
Unlimited colors means you can go wild on the gradient if you want — but send real artwork. A blurry phone screenshot of your buddy's logo prints exactly like a blurry phone screenshot. Upload a proper file, or let us vectorize it, and keep it to two or three core colors if you want people to actually read your crest from center ice. Names, numbers, and captain (C) / assistant (A) patches are built into the design, not bolted on after with a separate iron-on kit. Sizing It For An Actual Hockey Body
Nine times out of ten, a sizing complaint traces back to one thing: someone ordered off their t-shirt size instead of measuring over their gear. A guy who wears a medium tee does not wear a medium jersey once shoulder pads are underneath it. Order a full size run — Youth Small through 5XL — and mix sizes freely across one roster order, since there's no reason a rec league team should be locked into ordering all one size just to keep things simple. Goalies need their own template, too. A 4XL player cut is not a goalie cut. The sleeves have to be wide enough to clear chest and arm floaters, or your tendy loses range of motion right when he needs it most — which is a strange time to find out your jersey was the problem, not his glove hand.

- Skipping the proof review. Read every name and number before you approve it. Twice. Once you sign off, that spelling is permanent.
- Ordering the week before the season starts. Sublimation isn't instant — a proof, a production run, and shipping all take real days, not a same-day miracle.
- Going heavy-knit retro because it looks cool in the group chat. Great for an outdoor pond on a Saturday morning. Brutal by the second period in a standard indoor rink with the heat on.
- Not collecting payment before you place the order. The captain always ends up holding the bag for the one guy who swears he'll pay after next payday. Not a design problem. Still worth mentioning.
Caring For A Sublimated Jersey
The upside of sublimated color is you don't need to baby it like a screen-printed one. Cold wash, hang to dry, and skip the bleach — the dye is fused into the fibers, not sitting on the surface, so there's no crack line forming along the fold. The one thing that actually shortens a jersey's life is leaving it balled up wet in a hockey bag for three days after a tournament. That's not a fabric problem. That's a laundry problem.
How Long It Actually Takes
Honest numbers, not "fast" or "quick": figure 1–3 business days to finalize your roster, art proof, names and numbers, then 10–25 business days for us to print, cut, and sew it.
